For over 15 years now, through its founder Ron Meckler, Re:Design Inc. has stood at the forefront of design through leading edge thinking, technology and graphics.
Ron grew up in Detroit, the son of a meat packer. He showed signs of a creative bent at an early age, teaching himself how to play multiple instruments and compose.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1974 to pursue a musical career, Ron developed his design chops at WET:The Magazine of Gourmet Bathing, the 70s avant garde publication from Venice, California. He moved to new york in 1984, where he was Design Director for Mademoiselle magazine and art director for MacUser magazine and Psychology Today.
A pioneer in the use of the computer as a design tool, Ron has provided design/technology consulting for Allure magazine, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, The New York Times, The Pushpin Group, Chermayeff and Geismar, and Chiat/Day/Mojo.
Design clients include Armando Testa Advertising, Charisma Records, Gerstman and Meyers, O&M Direct and Backer Spielvogel Bates.
In addition to heading up Re:Design, Ron is a partner in the international, boutique agency Baccari Meckler Worldwise.
He is co-author of Graphic Design Cookbook: Mix & Match Recipes for Faster, Better Layouts.
Ron has been a faculty member at the Kodak Center for Creative Imaging, School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology. His work has been featured and has won awards in HOW, Step-by-Step and Print.
He attended the Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and studied music at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. He currently lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with his wife Jackie, daughter Dolly and son Izzy.
